One of the seven Faculties in the university, Faculty of Humanities is committed to leading the contemporary academia in the fields of Humanities with a focus on sustainable development and to gain a strong international position and to contribute towards the goal and mission of Ch. Devi Lal University. With five teaching departments viz, English and Foreign Languages, JMC, Hindi, Sanskrit and Punjabi, the mission of the Faculty is to advance and promote intellectual, cultural development in theory and practice through teaching, research and study, innovation, publications, training, extension activities  and intellectual leadership.  The primary objective is to produce an enlightened community of people with intellectual insight and practical skill for independent thought, critical analysis, self-awareness and professional and academic proficiency based on disciplinary clarity, multidisciplinary distinction and interdisciplinary comprehensiveness
