Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya

Hon'ble Governor - Chancellor

Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana

I am pleased to know that Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, has developed a new, vibrant and student friendly website, which acts as an effective tool between the institution and its stakeholders. In the age of new technologies where sharing information with speed and accuracy has become so important, digitalization must become an area of thrust for every university in Haryana. The website should be the true gateway to the world of university, where every piece of relevant information is just a click away!

I strongly feel that the website should play an enabling role for all stakeholders in general and for the students from weaker sections of society in particular. There are many schemes of the Central and the State governments meant for them. One of them is the National Overseas Scholarship scheme for them. The point I am trying to highlight here is the need to ensure that every platform has an enabling impact on the students from deprived social sections.

The new National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) is very particular about the idea of inclusive education. Providing high quality and need-driven education is indeed very important but we cannot underestimate the role of social and moral values in ensuring holistic development of our students. Inclusivity adds a unique dimension to every seat of learning.

Higher education institutions must reach out to the last person on the margins and collaborate with our instituions for qualitative growth to achieve their targets. As a seat of learning, every university should be alive to its cultural, social and moral responsibilities towards society. Efforts must be made to integrate students, teachers and campus into local realities and societal needs as well.

After all, our common goal is to build a happy and inclusive society. I am hopeful that this university will make a substantial contribution to it. My best wishes to all the enrolled and prospective students, teachers and other stakeholders of the university.
