Faculty of Social Sciences, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa has been constituted as per the provisions of the Act and Statutes of the university and all the departments under the faculty are located on the first and second floor of the Tagore Bhawan. At present, there are five departments under this faculty viz. Department of Public Administration, Economics, History & Archaeology, Music (Instrumental & Vocal) and Geography. Seven Professors, one Associate Professor and twenty-three full-time teachers are performing the various academic, cultural and co-curricular activities of the faculty. Eight PG programmes are being offered under this faculty in various streams besides the Ph. D. programmes in Economics and Public Administration. The total intake in PG and Ph. D programmes is 260 and 52 seats respectively. The course curriculum of PG programmes is in CBCS and LOCF mode. Four hundred and twenty one students are pursuing their studies in PG programmes, while, 43 scholars are registered and pursuing their Ph. D. programmes. Six major/minor research projects have been completed or on-going in the faculty. More than 450 research papers have been published by the teachers and scholars of the faculty in various reputed journals. Further, 19 books and 66 articles/chapters in the books/edited books have been published by various teachers of the faculty.
